In a hollow tree deep down in the forest lived a woodland mouse mother and her young son.
They had a tough life; the mother was constantly out of the burrow looking for food for the baby and herself. She would bring food and keep it in a small basket. Whenever the baby woke up, he would go to the basket and eat.
But she made it to the burrow every day at the same time, and both mother and son prayed to God, “thank you for this life that you have given us. And we especially thank you for all the food that you put in the basket every day for us.”
Slowly as winter was approaching, food was not to be found. The mother, somehow, got enough so that the baby could be sufficiently fed, even though it was tough to go that far and danger the various threats to her.
However, she could not find any food one day, and she lost all her hope returned to the burrow. She entered hesitantly, only to find her baby jumping with joy.
He said, “ Mama, look, God had a party at his home today. He has sent such excellent food. There is candy and cakes also.”
She cried. God had seen her sincere efforts and the genuine prayers of the child and rewarded them.
