This policy describes the types of information we collect when you visit Yap Café™ websites, services, mobile applications, products, and content ("Services").
It also has information about storing, using, transferring, and deleting information. Our aim is not to comply with the privacy law. It's to earn your trust.
Advertisements do not generate revenue for cYap Café™. As a result, we do not collect data to market it. The tracking we do at Yap Café™ is to make our product work and includes essential product functions like paying taxes and writers managing critical features like personalizing what posts you see based on what we think you'll like.
We collect information from your service interactions to give you the best possible experience while using the Yap Café™ Platform. You actively tell us some of this information (such as your email address, which we use to track your account or communicate with you). In addition, we collect other information based on actions you take while using the Yap Café™ Platform, expressly but not limited to what content you view. This information includes records of your Internet Protocol address, information about your device (such as device or browser type), and referral information (how you got to a particular page).
We use this information to provide, test, improve, promote and personalize the services we offer to you, fight spam and other forms of abuse, and generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how people use the services.
Yap Café™ won't transfer information about you to any third parties to facilitate advertising for you. Likewise, we don't sell information about you to any third party.
We may transfer your account information to third parties in some circumstances only when we have to.
Suppose we will share your information in response to the legal process; we'll give you u notice to challenge it (for example, by seeking court intervention). Unless prohibited by law or we believe doing so may endanger others or cause illegal conduct. We will object to legal requests for information about users of our services that we think is improper.
Search engines may index your Yap Café™ user profile page, public interactions made public by you, or the information you may share when you link your Yap Café™ account to any social media sites.
Yap Café™ uses various third-party vendors and hosting partners for networking, storage, and related technology; we must run the Yap Café™ Platform. We will collect two types of data: web proxies and applications. Like most internet companies, we maintain two types of logs; the servers automatically record each request made when someone visits our sites and uses our apps. These logs may include your web request, IP address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request, and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser. We will delete all these logs after 90 days or earlier.
Using the service, you authorize Yap Café™ to transfer, store and use your information with its partners and with us; we have collaborated to host and run your services.
Yap Café™ does not host some content displayed on the Yap Café™ Platform. These "embeds" are hosted by a third-party and embedded on a Yap Café™ page so that they appear to be part of that page. For example, when we provide the service for you to integrate your Yap Café™ account with various social media accounts, these social media accounts collect information about you through files sent by you. These files send data to the hosted site as if you were visiting that site directly. Yap Café™ doesn't control what data third parties collect in cases like this or what they ultimately do with it. So, third-party embeds on Yap Cafe should not be a part of this Privacy Policy. However, they should be covered by the privacy policy of the third-party service (so, when you watch a YouTube video embedded in a Yap Café™ post, the use of data about your interactions with the YouTube video would be covered by YouTube's privacy policy).
Some embeds may ask you for personal information, such as submitting your email address through a form linked to a Yap Café™ post. We do our best to keep bad actors from the Yap Café™ Platform. However, if you submit your information to a third party this way, we don't know what they may do with it. As explained above, this Privacy Policy should not cover their actions. So, please be careful when you see embedded forms on Yap Café™ asking for your email address or any other personal information. Please make sure you understand whom you are submitting your information to and what they say they plan to do with it. We suggest you not submit your email address or personal information to any third party through an embedded form.
When posting on the Yap Café™ Platform, you may not embed a form that allows users to submit personal information. Instead, linking offsite to a page enabling such user submissions would be best. The appearance of that page must be distinct enough from the Yap Café™ environment to avoid confusing users with whom they are submitting personal information. Failure to do so may lead Yap Café to disable the post or take other actions to limit or disable your account.
We use browser cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you return to our service. We use them in various ways, including identifying and logging you in, remembering your preferences, and evaluating email effectiveness, enabling our writer's program payments and Member Meter Paid Services to function. In addition, we track your interactions within the Yap Café™ Services, which encompasses yapcafe.com and custom domains hosted by Yap Café and your mobile application interactions. Without cookies, our partners, writers under the writer's payment program, would not work, so they are necessary for the Yap Cafe's basic functionality.
Some third-party services we use to provide the service, such as Google Analytics, may place their cookies in your browser. This Privacy Policy covers using cookies by Yap Café™ only and not by third parties.
If you have a Yap Café™ account, you can access, modify or export your personal information or delete your account as provided on your profile page.
To protect information from accidental or malicious destruction, we may maintain residual copies briefly as permissible or as desired by India's laws. For example, if you delete your account, your information and content will be unrecoverable after a predefined time that may be worked out per our terms of service change. Yap Café™ may preserve and maintain copies of your information beyond this period when required by law.
We use encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data transmitted to and from our site. However, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee security. You use the service at your own risk and are responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure your account.
Your information will be transferred or subject to a different privacy policy if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, reorganization, or sale of assets. We'll notify you so you can opt out of any new policy by deleting your account before transferring.
Sometimes we'll email you about your account, service changes or new policies. Unfortunately, you can't opt out of this "transactional" email (unless you delete your account). Non-administrative emails, such as digests, newsletters, and activity notifications, can be unsubscribed from via your profile page.
When you interact with an email sent from Yap Café™ (such as opening an email or clicking on a particular link in an email), you may receive information about that interaction.
We won't email you to ask for your password or other account information. However, please forward it to us at legal@yapcafe.com so we can investigate if you receive such an email.
Yap Café™ reserves the right to revise this policy at any time. We'll notify you about significant changes to it. The most current version of the policy will always be here, and we will archive former versions here.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, New Delhi, India, as per its bill date of 14 August 2018, has formed a committee to formulate the data protection law, which shall be constituted into this privacy policy on its release.

Data Protection Statement for European Union Users
Yap Café™ collects and stores personal information about its users to customize their reading experience and enable personalized content distribution. It shares minimal data with its service providers.
Yap Café™ provides services with several payment processors, including CC Avenue, Razor Pay, and PayPal. Users may pay for Yap Café™ memberships/refresher plans or receive payment based on our Writer Partner Program's participation. Those companies acting as payment processors may collect and store personal data related to your billing information and history to provide their services. They may also collect and store personal and business data to prevent fraud and other abuse.
When you delete your Yap Café™ account, Yap Café™ deletes your data, as explained in this policy. However, you must do so with your payment service provider to delete your payment or billing information. Yap Café™ only has limited secure access to the records required to provide the service.
Yap Café™ is hosted in the public domain. Using the service, you authorize Yap Café™ to transfer, store and use your information in India & Internationally. Your data is disclosed to our processors; it is subject by contract to at least the same data protection set out in this statement.
Subject Access Requests
We process Subject Access Requests and account deletion requests from the account holder only for security and account ownership verification. Therefore, we are unable to process requests made by third-party services.

By using the benefits of the Yap Café™ Platform in any way, your acceptance of this privacy policy is deemed accepted; any ignorance, oversight or misinterpretation shall not be considered an excuse.
