Writer's Content Selection Guidelines 

 

Yap Café™ publishes content from budding, upcoming, and experienced writers.  

Providing them with an opportunity to monetize their content or even make Yap Cafe™ a passive income source. 

Our Submission Guidelines:

You must have a writer account on the Yap Café™ platform. 

Please submit your article post proofreading so that it can be published. Kindly refer to our writer's help document on the platform to understand this better. 

Please do not include links to third-party or branded sites or images with branding or links to third-party sites.

We will reject any submissions that appear as a promotional articles.

Credit your images. Yap Café™ reserves the right not to publish articles without credits or image sources not mentioned. We recommend horizontal images. Please do not use proprietary or proprietary images you do not have permission to use. Do not use images that directly take the reader to a marketing website or use an image that shows branding. If you want to use images shot by you, kindly credit them as "author's image".

The article submission page on the portal is very user-friendly, with detailed fields for title and subtitle. In addition, please select at least one genre. 

Articles post submission shall be proofread basis the "Writer Content Selection Guidelines." and "Get Paid to Write on Yap Cafe™" terms, and at the sole discretion of Yap Cafe™ shall be published. 

Once approved and published, you shall be intimated vis and email. Once you have twelve unique reads, you shall be appropriately remitted your dues as published in the "Get Paid to Write on Yap Cafe™" provided you have mentioned your valid remittance details and it's possible for Yap Cafe™ to remit the amount to you.

Introduction

Yap Café™ is committed to providing an exceptional experience for its readers, exuberating peace, harmony, learning, enjoyment, insights and positive thoughts, bringing joy and value to our readers and writers. Yap Café™ is a digital publisher of user content on a revenue-sharing basis. It welcomes everyone to share insightful thoughts, stories, opt-ins, memories, reports, and thought readers. As a result, Yap Café™ must follow a consistent content selection policy. While your content needs to conform to the below-published guidelines, it is still possible that certain content may not be published because of the tones and undertones that it conveys. Also, to avoid discussions with writers who may wish to justify or compare a published article because theirs was not included in the selection process. As a result, the Content section is at the sole discretion of Yap Café™ and must be followed by all writers. Writers will be notified by mail when their articles are posted on the platform. Suppose you do not receive a mail within a month of submission. In that case, most likely, the article has not been considered for publishing on the platform or is awaiting further evaluation.    

Guidelines

The guidelines provided below are specific and serve as a normative reference for what is and is not acceptable content to be published on the Yap Café™ platform.

Basic House Rules that need to adhere to. 

• Currently, we accept articles only in the English language.

We Do Not Encourage 

• Title, subtitle, image, and content mismatches shall not be published.
• Threat and Provocation of Violence: Any content that directly or indirectly threatens, encourages, or incites violence against anyone. 
• Hate speech: content that promotes violence or hatred against people based on characteristics like race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity.
• Content that glorifies, celebrates, downplays, or trivializes the violence, suffering, abuse, or deaths of individuals or groups, including the use of scientific or pseudoscientific claims to pathologize, dehumanize, or disempower others. 
• It includes any content that calls for intolerance, exclusion, or segregation based on protected characteristics, nor do we allow the glorification of groups that do any of the above.
• We do not allow hateful text, images, symbols, or other content in your username, profile, or bio.
• Harassment: Yap Café™ is a platform to share ideas. We will not tolerate harassment, which includes:
• Bullying, threatening, or shaming someone or posting things likely to encourage others to do so.
• Reviewing businesses or products in a gratuitously harmful or abusive manner.
• Comments on Privacy and Reputation.
• Posting copies of private communications between private individuals without the explicit consent of all parties to the communication.
• Doxing includes confidential or obscure personal information and the aggregation of publicly available information to target, shame, blackmail, harass, intimidate, threaten, or endanger anybody, group, or anybody.
• Posting intimate or explicit images taken or posted without the subject's express consent
• Content that violates others' privacy, including sensitive or confidential information such as credit card numbers, non-public phone numbers, physical addresses, email addresses, or other non-public information.

Restricted Categories

Any content that engages in any of the following restricted categories of activity shall not be published:

• Promotion of Controversial, Suspect, and Extreme Content
• Illustration or promotion of gambling or betting 
• Encouraging or sales of social media interactions, including off-platform
• The spread of references to illegal sexual services.
• Copyright violation
• Duplicate Content

We do not allow duplicate content, whether from a single account or across multiple accounts, either publicly or as an unlisted story. Since it's hard to identify such content, we will work predominantly on the Yap Café™ team's research or any claim made by anyone.

Spam

At Yap Café™, we do not tolerate spam. While it is hard to define this content with precision or completeness, here are some expected behaviours we look for that are characteristic of spam:

• Posting content primarily to drive traffic to or increase the search rankings of an external site, product, or service
• Scraping and reposting content from other sources for the primary purpose of generating revenue or other personal gains.
• Posting duplicate content, whether from a single account or across multiple accounts.
• Stories where the content is clipped, with the sole purpose of linking it to the rest of the article on a different website.
• Copyright and trademark infringement
  • Respect the copyrights and trademarks of others. Unless you're authorized to use someone else's copyrighted work or trademark (either expressly or by legal exceptions and limitations like fair use), please don't do it. We will respond to any notices per our policies on this platform.

Deceptive conduct

We do not allow deceptive conduct at Yap Café™, such as, but not limited to:

• Posting content or impersonating a person or organization in a way likely to deceive people. For example, parody and satire are fine but make it clear that is what you're doing.
• Using Yap Café™ for phishing or fraud. Don't use tags, links, titles, or other metadata misleadingly. Don't link to or embed malicious or harmful code or software in your posts.
• Don't use deception to generate revenue or traffic.
• If you have received compensation, free goods/services or anything of value in connection with the topic of a post, you must make this clear.
• Advertisements, promotions, and marketing for any product or service
• Third-party advertising and sponsorships are not allowed.
• You may not advertise or promote third-party products, services, or brands through Yap Café™ posts, publications, or letters, including images that indicate brand sponsorship in a post or letter or as part of a publication name or logo.
• Images functioning as third-party ads are not allowed. Inline images or embeds that link together and function as banner ads for third-party brands are not allowed.
• Affiliate links are not allowed.
• Multi-level marketing content is not permitted.
• Embedded content that collects the readers' personal data, which may lead to fraud and abuse, should be reported immediately to the competent authorities.

Graphic Content

We do not allow pornographic content, images or videos.

Exploitation of minors

• We do not allow content promoting the sexual or violent exploitation of minors, including the sexualization of fictional minors.
• Promotion and glorification of self-harm
• We do not allow activities that encourage, promote, or glorify self-harm acts, such as cutting, eating disorders like anorexia or bulimia, and suicide. Content that encourages or threatens users to commit suicide. Any such reports from the audience should be addressed as soon as possible.

Outcomes

If you break or infringe on the guidelines, then.

We strive to be fair, but we reserve the right to suspend accounts without communication and remove all their content without permission, information or notice. To protect our services, infrastructure, and users. Yap Café™ is not obligated to cover all or any of your losses for whatever reason.

If Yap Café™ is obligated in any way to take appropriate action against your violation, it should not be.

Yap Café™'s Financial Liability

If your account needs to be suspended either temporarily or permanently, Yap Café™ will not be accountable or liable to remit any amount for any losses, in all respects, including past, current and future.

Only in exceptional circumstances will Yap Café™ seek restitution for the reputational harm caused by your actions.

Notice

If we have to suspend your account and disable all the content from the website for whatever reasons, we shall notify you through the email provided by you unless we feel that the act was severe or intended. I

We would turn over the information to the appropriate government authorities to act as they desire in exceptional circumstances.

Appeals

If you believe your content or account has been restricted or disabled in error or think there is a relevant context we were unaware of in reaching our determination, you can write to us at legal@yapcafe.com. 

We shall consider all reasonable appeals.

Government Takedown Requests

Suppose Yap Café receives a request from a government actor to restrict access to content associated with your account. In that case, we will notify you unless we are legally prohibited or believe doing so may endanger others. Where applicable, we will limit legally-ordered content restrictions to jurisdictions where we have a good faith belief that we are legally required to restrict the content.

Validity

The guidelines may be changed occasionally and uploaded to the website for your consumption.

Your Consent

By submitting content for publication on the Yap Café™ Platform, you accept the terms, guidelines, and content mentioned in this document. We consider these guidelines and the information contained in this document to be accepted by you.

Any ignorance, oversight, or misinterpretation should not be considered as an excuse. If you have a question, write to us at writer@yapcafe.com before you submit your content.
